Membership Information

The Member of CIBPA Niagara shall belong to one of the following five (5) groups:

1. Principal Member
2. Associate Member
3. Student Member
4. Corporate Member
5. Honorary Lifetime Member

A member must meet all of the following standards as a minimum:

1. Have attained the age of Majority
2. Be a citizen in good standing
3. Be interested and supportive of the objectives of CIBPA Niagara
4. Have paid the fees in full by the due date
5. Have been formally accepted as a Member by the Board.

New Members
With the exception of Honorary Lifetime Member, the Board may, in its discretion, accept all new Members. Honorary Lifetime Members are to be voted in and accepted at the Member’s Annual General Meeting.

Principal Members
A Principal Member of CIBPA Niagara shall be an individual of Italian descent or be the spouse of an individual of Italian descent interested in supporting the objectives of CIBPA Niagara. This individual shall have full voting rights and shall be entitled to hold an executive position.

Associate Members
An Associate Member of CIBPA Niagara shall be an individual of non-Italian descent. This individual can enjoy all that CIBPA Niagara has to offer, but will not have voting rights.

Student Members
A Student Member shall be an individual full-time student of Italian or non-Italian descent interested in supporting the objectives of CIBPA Niagara. This individual shall have no voting rights and shall not hold an executive position. This individual may apply for the education Awards if they meet the proper criteria.

Corporate Members
Shall be entitled to elect a set number of representatives from their company as per CIBPA Niagara’s Corporate tier structure. If the representatives meet the criteria of a Principal Member, then they shall enjoy all the rights and privileges of a Principal Member, if they don't they will enjoy the rights and privileges of an Associate Member.

Honorary Lifetime Members
Life membership in CIBPA Niagara may be extended to any member as special recognition of outstanding services rendered to the Association or the Canadian-Italian community at large.  The extension of such membership shall be proposed by the Board and approved by the General Assembly at the Members’ Annual General Meeting.  Life Members will not pay membership fees, but will be required to pay for meals and any other costs paid by all other Members.

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR CIBPA Niagara
By being a member of  CIBPA Niagara, you:
  • Lend the prestige of your name to the Association's membership roster.
  • Contribute your wisdom, knowledge and experience to the shaping and evolution of the Association and to the fulfillment of its mandate.
  • Provide the Association with the added numerical strength it needs to be representative of the Italian Canadian business and professional community in the greater Niagara area.
  • Contribute your management and leadership skills to the operations of the Association.
  • Contribute, from the perspective of a Canadian business/professional person of Italian heritage, your ideas, and opinions on business, economic, political, social and cultural issues of concern to our community.
  • Demonstrate your general support for the existence and work of the Association. From a general perspective, being an active member of the CIBPA can be as intensive as your schedule will permit. It can consist of attending all functions and events, participating in all activities and being on a number of committees. Or it can simply consist of showing your moral and financial support for the existence and work of the Association by responding to the surveys it conducts and paying your annual membership dues.
